Senior Adviser at the Foreign Policy Centre
Craig is a Senior Adviser at the Foreign Policy Centre, in London. He also
works in the non-governmental sector at the NGO PCI, where he focuses on
protracted conflicts. Until 2011 his career was in the British diplomatic
service and he was Head of the Eastern Research Group at the FCO dealing with
Russia and Eastern Europe. Previously worked at NATO, the OSCE and the
Council of Europe.
In the 1980s he worked at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Munich, and then at the Soviet Studies Research Centre at RMA Sandhurst. Craig is a Trustee and Board Member of the John Smith Trust. A graduate of the University of St Andrews, he is a member of IISS; RUSI, Chatham House; and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in June 2011.
