Kamal Alam

Kamal is an advisor on aspects of conflict in the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. He holds a BA degree in Politics & History of the Middle East with Arabic from Durham University. He also has an MA in Syrian History from Damascus University. He has acted as an advisor to countries involved in Afghanistan’s conflict. He advises on the relationship between the Arabs and the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

His Ph.D. thesis focuses on the Geopolitics of Afghanistan into play through a new analysis on the tribal, economic, and strategic relations between the Arabs and the geographic space of Afghanistan, Baluchistan, and the Pakistan Army. Kamal has spent time working in Syria observing the inner dynamics of the state during the height of the insurgency in neighbouring Iraq.
